  • Here is another photo of the ever popular Ferrari 250 GT SWB Breadvan (S/N 2819GT), a car that I've had the pleasure of seeing at a number of events over the last few years, and a car that always stands out with that Piero Drogo developed aerodynamically advanced body shape.

    Based on the 250 GT SWB Competition with the chassis number noted above, the car was commissioned by Count Giovanni Volpi (owner of team Scuderia Serenissima racing) to compete against the Ferrari 250 GTO.

    Count Giovanni Volpi has wanted to purchase the 250 GTO from Ferrari, however Enzo Ferrari refused due to Volpi taking on former Ferrari employees at the Automobili Turismo e Sport racing team.

    This photo was taken in haste as the cars came through the marshalling road area prior to the track session, and before this Ferrari became damaged during an on-track incident.
