  • The Goodwood Revival last year (2015) was a Ferrari enthusiasts delight, with a number of cars making an appearance that had some real racing history to them, this 500 TR being one such example.

Bought by James Johnston in 1956, this competed in what looks like roughly 35 events with 5 owners over the next 6 years, and was repainted at least twice (once white, and then silver with blue stripes).

Between 79 and 97, the car appears to have been traded here and there, often in pieces awaiting restoration. In 1997 that restoration eventually came, and the car was sold to John Devine in 1998 for $750,000.

Since 1999, its appeared a numerous classic events, including the Mille Miglia, Concorso Italiano, and the Le Mans Classic.

In terms of this photo, I've got admit to finding yellow cars a bit of a struggle to get right - somehow the depth of paint on this car and the level of shine makes it look almost toy like (I have a similar issue with the very red 500 TR example to the left of this one).
